March 22, 2010
Welcome to Spring,
We have a new sponsor for the Purina Saddle Series. It is the Holiday Inn Express next to Whiskey Creek Steak house on East 23rd Street (The main street going east and west through Fremont). You will get a reduced room rate by mentioning Purina Saddle Series. In addition, with a reduced room rate, it will include a full breakfast buffet the next morning. They also have a heated pool and hot tub available. I have a link on the sponsors page to their website for more information.
We had a successful barrel race last weekend even though it was still cold. We will be running on March 27 and 28 at regular times. Exhibitions will start at 4:30 pm on Saturday and 9:30 am on Sunday followed with Open, Youth, Exhibition Poles, and Open Poles.
On April 3, Saturday, we will start at 11:00 am with exhibitions, so everyone can get home early for the Easter holiday the next day.
On April 16 and 17 Jerry Barrett will be in Fremont for the pole bending clinic, starting at 5 pm on Friday and 8 am on Saturday. Tuition is only $125 for both days. I think this will be the last clinic Jerry does in Nebraska, because he is getting ready to retire and will not be traveling as much next year. We will follow with the barrel race/pole bending on Saturday and Sunday at regular times. At 1 pm on Sunday, with a complimentary lunch from Purina Horse Feed, we will present this year’s awards for the Purina Saddle Series. If you can’t make it, please make arrangements for someone to pick up your award. No awards will be mailed out. Reminder: You have to compete in 11 competitions to win awards for Purina Saddle Series 2009-10. You can find that information in the standings. ALL STALLS will have to be cleaned out by this day with your chain and locks removed for other summer events.
On May 21-23, Jimmie Munroe will be in Fremont for the barrel race clinic. We will start early Friday evening( around 4 pm) and then at 8 am on Saturday and Sunday. You can get a discount tuition of only $165 to attend only Friday and Saturday; or $265 for all three days.
There will be a broncobillysaddles.com $400 added barrel race on 6 pm Saturday night and 11 am Sunday morning. This will be a 2-run 4-D average paid out and a daily 4-D payout for each day. Entry fee is $35 per run. You can win money both days by rolling over your time in the daily payout, but you will be excluded from the average payout if you do not make both runs. Check out the flyer on this website for more info. If you have any questions, call me at 402-419-0191 or 712-227-0191.
Thank you to all of our sponsors and for all the help we have putting these jackpots on. Hope to see everyone soon at the barrel races or at a clinic in Fremont.
